LA Kings 2014 Stanley Cup Championship Display Cases
The Los Angeles Kings met the New York Rangers in the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals. The Rangers made their last Stanley Cup Finals appearance in 1993-1994 when they won the Championship against Vancouver Canucks. The Kings last played for the Stanley Cup in 2011-2012 where they won it against New Jersey Devils.
The 2014 Stanley Cup Playoff series was a long and tough battle for both the Rangers and Kings. Both teams played full seven game series’ in the first two rounds of playoffs, the Conference Quarterfinals and Semifinals. The Rangers captured their Conference Finals in six games with the Kings playing another full seven game series to win their Conference.
The 2014 Stanley Cup Finals saw two of the most evenly matched NHL teams facing each other and playing games that will be remembered for years to come. The series ran for five games with Los Angeles taking the Stanley Cup Championship with a series score of 4 games to 1. Of the five games played, three required overtime to decide a winner with two of them going into double overtime.
The Los Angeles Kings also played a total of 26 of a possible 28 playoff games to capture the Championship.
The final game of the series ended with Los Angeles scoring the winning goal at 14:43 of the second overtime frame to clinch their second cup in three years on June 13, 2014.
