Goalies are an interesting bunch. They are very different to anyone else on a hockey team. Not only do they require differently designed equipment, they wear helmets with large masks and use very different styles of gloves and sticks. One goalie you really liked was, and still is, Cam Ward of the Carolina Hurricanes. He’s been with the team since 2005, the year of the first (and only) Stanley Cup win of the Hurricanes. Ward was pretty cool in your book for a lot of reasons. First, he wore Number 30 which you always thought was a great goalie number as you viewed jersey numbers higher than 39 as a mistake. Ward was also a Canadian, born in Saskatchewan and played his best years in junior hockey in Alberta. You liked that this kid was playing on your favorite hockey team and it was as far away from Canada as most of the NHL could get with franchises. You have a mini helmet and you got it to honor Ward. Now keep it in our Carolina Hurricanes Horizontal View Mini Hockey Helmet Display.
