Vancouver Canucks Single Hockey Puck Case
How To Clean Your Display Case
National Hockey League
When the City of Vancouver started construction on the Pacific Coliseum in 1967, the plan was to attract a National Hockey League franchise. The city already had a Stanley Cup team with the historic Vancouver Millionaires who won the championship in 1915 beating the original Ottawa Senators. That victory made Vancouver the first West Coast city in the history of the trophy to win a Stanley Cup. Vancouver tried to be accepted for the 1967 NHL Expansion but the league turned them down. A year later the city almost became the home to a relocating team when the Oakland Seals fell into financial difficulties. The NHL did grant Vancouver a team in 1969 and following a purchase of the Western Hockey League Vancouver Canucks, the team was moved into the NHL and ready to play. The team name comes from a Canadian ‘super hero’ and logger named Johnny Canuck. If you have a Vancouver Canucks hockey puck keep it stored in our Vancouver Canucks Single Hockey Puck Display Case.
