Washington Capitals Goalie Mini Hockey Helmet Display
How To Clean Your Display Case
National Hockey League
When the Washington Capitals entered the National Hockey League as an expansion team in 1974 they struggled to find strong players. There were a total of thirty hockey teams playing between two different professional leagues at the time which meant there was not a lot of star talent left to choose from for a new team. The Capitals did manage to pick up two goalies their first season. Rob Low came from the Toronto Maple Leafs in an expansion draft and played three seasons with the Capitals. The first season saw the team collect a lot of records but they were all for poor achievement. The Capitals had the fewest wins for a team in a season with eight, the longest losing streak in a season with seventeen games and many more. It was tough being a goalie for the Capitals in the early years as there wasn’t a lot of strength in front of them.
