The Winnipeg Jets are one of two National Hockey League teams to have two different placements in the league. The Ottawa Senators are the other team that had two different franchises with the same name in the NHL. The original Winnipeg Jets played in the NHL from 1979 to 1997 and are now known as the Arizona Coyotes. The new Winnipeg Jets started playing in the NHL in 2011, formerly being the Atlanta Thrashers.
The unique thing about having two different teams with the same name is that for sports collectors there are all kinds of opportunities to collect items from the old team and match them with items from the new team. For example, hockey pucks from both teams will have different logos.
The original Winnipeg Jets logo had the team name with a stylized hockey stick forming the letter J with a tiny jet ‘crossing the T’ with the new logo is that of an overhead view of a fighter jet. If you have hockey pucks from both teams, you’ll want to display them in our Winnipeg Jets Double Hockey Puck Display Case.
Our NHL Two Hockey Puck Display Case features:
Has space to hold two hockey pucks (not included)
Features a mahogany base
Comes with a FREE two line nameplate
Includes an engraved Winnipeg Jets logo
